what you should know before buying led screen

LED screen resolution The key to a quality image on a large-format video LED screen is to buy the highest resolution you can afford. A LED screen's resolution is defined by it’s total number of vertical and horizontal pixels (dots that form the picture). The video signal that the LED screen will be reproducing has a native resolution of about 486/576 (NTSC/PAL) vertically and anywhere from about 240 to 720 horizontally (depending on the quality of the source). To reproduce these signals with no loss of image resolution, you want a minimum LED screen resolution of about 648 x 486 (NTSC) or 768 x 576 (PAL). If you use a LED screen with fewer pixels than the input source, the images will have less resolution than the source. However if the LED screen is designed properly it can still give an acceptable appearance for video images. LED screens of approx 1/3 of VGA resolution can provide a very acceptable video image, so around 200x150 pixels are OK. For example, to achieve ...

Forecast and Trends in LED Technologies Market

LED screens came first in the battle with neon signs. LED screens are winning the fight against static billboards. LED and LCD screens become leaders in the in-window advertising throughout the world. Energy-saving LED lamps are getting cheaper and push the incandescent and luminescent lamps from the shops. The advance of digital advertising continues. For several years our Magazine has been covering the trends in the market of LED and LCD displays. The forecasts of reputable international consulting companies show that LED and LED-related applications will have established the leading position in the world markets by 2020. Several factors of efficiency prove this statement: the LED-based products are getting cheaper from year to year; the coefficient price-quality is improving; the dynamic luminous efficiency is growing while the power consumption is falling (which becomes a key factor in conditions of the ever-growing prices on energy-resources). The research analytical and ...

Designing a reliable future for Ultra-Fine-Pitch LED

Image
(English version) Fine and Ultra-Fine-Pitch LED solutions are continuing to explode in applications and orders. Last month in fact, a single display opportunity for a 1.25-mm pixel pitch LED display in the US pushed over $5 million. Opportunities for displays providing native HD and 4K resolution are emerging at an astonishing rate and in all verticals including entertainment, command control and U.S. Government systems. There is a line in the sand, Ultra-Fine-Pitch LED displays are replacing LCD walls and projection DLP systems. LCD and projection technology currently holds a majority of the digital signage market at over 80 percent. Yet LED display image quality has begun to emerge as a rival to these other technologies in many applications and will soon surpass each with the inherent mature display solution. While the display performance design and implementation of Ultra-Fine-Pitch is now competitive, there is significant work ahead for manufacturers to realize the vast market p...
